Since 2015 CamBioScience Limited has provided intensive training courses in breakthrough life science technologies for professionals in academia and industry. To date the company has trained an international customer base of professional scientists from over 60 leading academic and industrial institutions and more than 30 countries worldwide.

As of 2017 CamBioScience began scaling-up its capacity to deliver breakthrough course content via the construction of a bespoke cloud-based e-learning platform aimed at disrupting cutting-edge knowledge acquisition and assessment in the wider life science sectors (biotechnology, bioengineering, biopharma and medtech).

Our scientists and machine learning experts have developed a novel approach to individualising the learning process for life science professionals. The CamBioScience team is made up of PhD trained co-founding directors who are aptly supported by a team of leading software developers and a videographer.

Dr Chibeza C. Agley

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Chibeza Agley is a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge and founded CamBioScience Limited in 2014 with the specific aim of helping scientists to develop their commercial awareness and realise the economic value of their transferable skills. Dr. Agley grew the company from its origins as an interdisciplinary academic-to-industry consultancy service, to an international business supporting Biotech, Pharma and Healthcare industries worldwide. His current research at the University of Cambridge Stem Cell Institute amalgamates the fields of stem cell biology, physics and bioengineering. Chibeza continues to publish scientific papers and has received a number of notable academic awards for his research including the ‘Tadien Rideal Prize for Molecular Science’ in recognition of his PhD thesis. He maintains excellent local links with the Cambridge biotech cluster and the UK advertising industry and has developed long-standing global partnerships. As Chief Executive Officer of CamBioScience, Chibeza is focused on delivering innovative business solutions to our valued clients.

Dr Sarra Achouri

Chief Marketing Officer

Sarra is a Next Generation Fellow at the Centre for Trophoblast Research at the University of Cambridge. She has been in Cambridge for several years, doing her PhD in the Physics department and conducting academic research. Sarra’s scientific interest and expertise lie at the interface between physics and biology, but her experience radiates across a range of science disciplines. Her extensive experience in facilitating communication between scientists from different fields constitutes a powerful ability to explain, promote and sell new concepts and cutting-edge technologies. Throughout her abundant multidisciplinary collaborations, she gained an advanced ability to adapt communication to different audiences and a keen eye for efficient visual support to convey information. Her motto is “Science should look as beautiful as it sounds and sound as clear as it looks”. With this in mind, Sarra uses her hands-on experience and her networking ability to lead our Marketing department.

Dr Jürgen Fink

Chief Operating Officer

Juergen holds a PhD in Stem Cell Biology from the University of Cambridge. During his career, Juergen has gained professional experience working in more than 20 different laboratories in Germany, the US, South Korea and the UK, gaining crucial multidisciplinary and multicultural problem solving and communication skills. These qualifications and Juergen’s keen eye for detail as well as his natural team leading and project management skills enable him to quickly identify new possibilities for our clients and to direct the business operations of CamBioScience. As the Chief Operating Officer, Juergen overseas business operations and ensures the highest quality results and customer satisfaction of our clients.

Matthew Chadwick

Lead Server-Side Developer

Matthew is a programmer who comes most recently from University of Cambridge where he worked on the Diversity Generator and Intermine projects. Before that he was at the CSIRO in Sydney for 9 years where he worked with scientists to translate their models into working prototypes and finished applications for industrial partnerships. He has scientific programming experience in: complex systems, machine-learning, computational geometry, visualisation and genetics.

Oscar Forshaw-Swift

Head of Video

Oscar is a video producer with a wealth of experience producing marketing and promotional video content for a range of businesses, educational institutions and charities; responsible for taking videos from initial conception to final delivery, through the company he set up in 2009, Spark In The Dark Productions.
Alongside this work Oscar has directed and produced films that have won awards at UNICEF, miShorts and a number of film festivals, as well as securing distribution deals that have seen his films released on major platforms including Amazon Video, GooglePlay, iTunes and DVD.
Now as the head of video for CamBioScience, Oscar is responsible for the production of all video content, using his experience to ensure that the highest production standards are met, and is always exploring new ways to use film and video as an innovative tool for marketing, promotion and learning.

Prof. Hugh Montgomery

Chairman of the board

Hugh Montgomery is a Professor of Intensive Care Medicine in London. He obtained a 1st class BSc in cardiorespiratory physiology and neuropharmacology in 1984, and his medical degree (MB.BS) from the University of London in 1987. He completed specialist training in General Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Intensive Care Medicine, and now practices as a consultant intensivist in North London. He obtained his higher research degree (MDRes) in 1997, and works at University College London as Professor of Intensive Care Medicine. He has authored over 350 scientific articles, two in Nature. His research interests have been broad: he reported the ‘first gene for human fitness’ and has worked on the human musculoskeletal, cardiac, inflammatory and metabolic responses to exercise; cardiac growth; mechanisms of human hypoxic adaptation; the skeletal muscle response to critical illness and more. Hugh is also an educator across media: he delivered the five televised Royal institution Christmas Lectures in 2007; has worked in radio; and has authored and edited diverse textbooks for undergraduates and postgraduates.

Zelmira Koch Polk

Non-Executive Director

Zelmira Koch Polk is a senior business executive with extensive experience building and turning around businesses internationally. She has worked in finance, crisis communications and management consulting with specialization in the education and healthcare sectors. She has particular skills entering new geographic markets and adapting businesses to regulatory and cultural demands. Zelmira is a founding partner of the Hearth Education Advisors, a global education advisory firm specialized in setting up education institutions and businesses internationally. Prior to the Hearth, Zelmira ran the international division of Chartwell Education Group, a leading American consulting group established by the former U.S. Secretary of education. Zelmira started her career in finance working in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Credit Suisse First Boston and worked for a leading crisis management and communication firm, Dilenschneider Group. She is a certified Dip Non-Executive Director from the Institute of Directors and serves on the board of ARFA Röhrenwerke AG a Swiss steel company.
